Position Summary:
The Social Media & Community Coordinator role sits within Big League Food Company, with day-to-day focus on Dear Grain and Village Juicery. Both brands are community-driven and product-led, and this role ensures that this ethos is consistently reflected across in-store and online experiences. We’re looking for a marketing and brand creative who brings together strategic understanding with an enjoyment of being on the floor, behind the camera, and in the comments. You’ll be responsible for social media, community engagement, and content capture for both brands. This is a hands-on role with real ownership, supporting the Marketing Director across marketing and brand execution. This position is for an existing vacancy.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Marketing Calendar & Campaign Support: Work alongside the Marketing Director and operational leaders to build and execute the marketing calendar and support campaigns tied to operational, strategic, and brand priorities.
  • Social Media Execution: Plan, schedule, and publish social content in line with brand calendars, voice, and priorities ensuring consistency, quality, and follow-through.
  • In-Store Support: Ideate and execute in-store marketing and brand requirements including menu boards, A-frame collateral, labels, and other ad-hoc needs.
  • New Channel Development: Partner with the Marketing Director to launch and grow both brands on relevant new channels (e.g. TikTok, YouTube).
  • Community Engagement: Own day-to-day engagement across social platforms (primarily Instagram, Google, and email), including responding to comments, DMs, and reviews directly in-platform and in each brand’s voice. Support community initiatives that drive loyalty with existing customers and awareness with new audiences.
  • Photography & Content Capture: Capture high-quality photography and short-form video in stores, at events, and around product launches. Surface real moments customers, team members, products, and neighborhoods that reinforce what makes each brand special.
  • Design Support: Execute design needs (stories, posts, basic signage, etc.) and coordinate with the design team for more complex creative requests.
  • Content Organization & Reporting: Maintain organized content libraries and provide basic engagement summaries to help the team understand what’s working and where to improve.

Requirements:
  • 1–3 years of experience in social media, content creation, or community engagement
  • Strong photography skills; video capture and basic editing are a plus
  • Comfortable managing Instagram-first content and engaging with customers publicly
  • Able to handle simple graphic design tasks (Canva, Adobe, or similar tools)
  • Organized, dependable, and comfortable working across two brands, multiple locations, and a cross-functional team

Pay and Schedule
  • Pay: $48000 to $50000 Per Year
  • Full Time - 8 hours a day
  • 5 days a week

*This role requires you to travel on regular basis to Dear Grain and Village Juicery locations across the GTA. Estimated on-site presence of approximately three days per week.

Compensation
