Dear Grain is seeking two Full-time Junior Pastry Chef with baking experience to join our bakery. We are looking for someone caring, passionate, and dynamic who is interested in committing themselves to the craft of making sourdough pastries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and mix croissant doughs according to standardized recipes and production schedules
  • Execute lamination with consistency and attention to detail across a variety of laminated products
  • Produce daily product based on inventory levels, wholesale orders, and production targets
  • As support to Dear Grain bakery team - accurately scale and prepare recipes for various products including batters, doughs, cookies, scones, and loaf cakes.
  • Mix, portion, and bake pastries according to production needs and quality standards
  • Maintain accurate tracking of ingredient usage and communicate replenishment needs proactively
  • Work collaboratively with the bakery team to ensure smooth day-to-day operations
  • Communicate and report directly to the Bakery Manager with updates on production progress, issues, or supply needs
  • Follow all quality, food safety, and cleanliness protocols, including proper handling of tools, equipment, and work surfaces
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work environment, contributing to overall team hygiene standards

Qualification
  • Previous experience with croissant production or laminated dough preferred
  • Strong understanding of dough handling and fermentation
  • Reliable, detail-oriented, and organized in both production and communication
  • Able to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for extended periods
  • Willing to learn, take feedback, and grow within a structured program

Compensation
